Curricular Activities

I & II MSc Chemistry students attended International Seminar on “ Recent trends in Physics, Chemistry and Allied Sciences for sustainable development” on 27th& 28th Sept and presented papers which are published by IMRF.

Workshops:
  • MSc Chemistry students attended workshop on Professional skills organised by English Department on 27th Nov 2019.
  • Students attended a workshop on 22nd Aug on “Contemporary Nano synthesis, characterization and applications” organized by the department of Chemistry.
Guest Lectures:
  • Dept of PG Chemistry organised a Guest lecture on " Career prospects and opportunities with Chemistry" on Aug 26th delivered by Dr Manoranjani , Dept of Chemistry, PB Siddhartha Arts and science college, Vijayawada.
  • A guest lecture was delivered by Dr Ch Durga Prasad from SVKP & Dr KS Raju Arts and Science college, Penugonda on 1st Nov on “ Statistical Thermodynamics”.
  • A guest lecture was delivered by Dr Saran, From Bharathiyar university on “Crystal growth”.
  • A guest lecture was delivered by Dr M.Kirankumar from KBN College on “Group theory”.
Project Works/Internships:

The present final year students attended summer internship at Pharma train, Rajahmundry from 22nd April 2019 for ten days, completed and they got awarded. They were trained to handle instruments like HPLC, UV- Visible spectrophotometer.

Co-curricular:
  • 10 students from II MSc Chemistry participated in the Emergency Response volunteers trainingprogrammeconducted on 10th July organized by Indian Red cross society, WG Dt.
  • On 23rd July 2019, Academic competitions on poster presentations and power point presentations were conducted on Nano materials and Ozone layer depletion.
  • On 13th August 2019, Kekule club was inaugurated, Students presented papers on “the importance of Chemistry in our daily life”.
  • Students and staff of PG Organic chemistry gathered for Kekule club on 16th Sep and organized quiz program on “Depletion of Ozone layer”.
  • On 15th Feb 2019 – students and staff gathered for club activity and students presented their views on “ Women as role models”.
Extra-curricular:
  • IM.Sc student V.Madhurigot II prize in Badminton women held by AdikaviNannayya University Inter Collegiate cum selections.
  • Staff and students participated in Annual mission fete on 11th November 2019.
Achievements of the Department(2019-2020):
  • Dr CA Jyothirmayee completed Minor Research Project sponsored by RUSA No: F.MRP-325/2019(MRP/RUSA 2.0-STC) LINK No : 5-19/02 Title : Growth, spectroscopic and optical studies of a nonlinear optical material. Amount sanctioned : Rs.70,000/-
  • In recognition of the consistent superior performance in Chemistry Dr CA Jyothirmayee was awarded prestigious Academic award " IMRF PAUL JANSSEN BEST RESEARCHER AWARD" on the eve of IMRF's 155th International conference on Applications of Physics, Chemistry and Engineering sciences Malaysia - 2020 at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Jan 9th 2020.
  • Dr.C.A.Jyothirmayee,Mrs.A.R.N.L.Sirisha and Mrs.Y.Rajanipresented papers onPhysico chemical analysis of ground water in an International seminar on” Recent trends in Physics, Chemistry and Allied sciences for sustainable development”, Oct 2019.
  • II & I M.Sc students of Chemistry presented paper on “ Nano materials,” in a workshop on “National Workshop on Contemporary Nano Synthesis, characterization and applications” on 22 August 2019.
  • Among the II M.Sc students, Out of 25 members 12 members got selected in Sri Chaitanya Techno school and 3 members got selected in Hetero Drugs Pharmaceutical industry in the year 2019-20.
