A skilled knowledge in life sciences improves quality of human life. Research in life sciences brings home Nutritious food, Healthy life, reduced risk of diseases, Immune boosters, etc. So entry into life sciences makes one self eco-friendly which is inherited from generations

The department was born in 1985 which is strong and always introduces experimental and innovative curriculum to the students. Since inception of autonomy in 1987, Department offers undergraduate courses in the major areas of Nutrition, Microbiology and Biochemistry.

Objectives of Departments

  1. The Applied Biology Programme is designed to equip the students with the practical uses of biological knowledge and to inculcate in the students an entrepreneurial and problem-solving ability.

  2. It emphasizes technologies and applications relevant to biology-based industries and institutions such as biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and food industries and the environment.
