Multimedia will help to improve computer penetration in various spheres of life. In the present scenario, Multimedia and web design technology play an important role in the field of education, agriculture, product launch, science and technology, corporate development and enhanced business opportunities. With the increasing variety and range of hardware and software used for Multimedia and Web-Site Design, the demand for the manpower in these fields has escalated. This training program has been envisaged with an objective to develop specialized manpower required for these activitie
1) Understand the principles of creating an effective web page, including an in-depth consideration of information architecture.
2)Become familiar with graphic design principles that relate to web design and learn how to implement theories into practice.
3) Develop skills in analysing the usability of a web site.
4) Understand how to plan and conduct user research related to web usability.
5) Learn the language of the web: HTML and CSS.
6) Learn CSS grid layout and flexbox.
7) Learn techniques of responsive web design, including media queries.
8) Develop skills in digital imaging (Adobe Photoshop.)
9) Develop basic programming skills using Javascript and jQuery.
10) Be able to embed social media content into web pages.
11) To identify a range of concepts, techniques and tools for creating and editing the interactive multimedia applications.
12) To identify both theoretical and practical aspects in designing multimedia systems surrounding the emergence of multimedia technologies using contemporary hardware and software technologies.
13) The objective of this subject is to teach the principles of how different types of media can be processed and presented by computers.
14) It introduces how multimedia can be used in various application areas.
15) It provides a solid foundation to the students so that they can identify the proper applications of multimedia, evaluate the appropriate multimedia systems and develop effective multimedia applications.
16) To develop women empowerment
History
Department of Web Technology and Multimedia was established in the year 2014.This department was established to empower women. This is a pure skill-based course. To enhance women empowerment, the skills which are related to the society with these skills, this department was established. With great hard work, St.Theresa’s college achieved to have MoU with industrial partners. With these MoUs, the college started four skill-based courses. Of these four, two courses are bachelor of vocational courses and two are diploma courses. Web Technology and Multimedia course is one among the vocational courses.
These courses got the approval of 50 students from UGC. Web Technology and Multimedia course started with 26 members. UGC also supported with financial needs that are required for this department.
Web Technology is a means by which computers can communicate with each other like humans who use different languages to communicate with each other. Computers use markup languages and media packages to interact. A markup language in simple terms is a language that is a combination of words and symbols used to process any given information.
Multimedia is a form of communication that combines different content forms such as text, audio, images, animation, or video into a single presentation, in contrast to traditional mass media, such as printed material or audio recordings.
Basing on this the course structure was developed from basic HTML to PHP for web designing and from Photoshop to After Effects for Multimedia. This course structure will be verified by one Industrial person and one university Nominee every year. The structure will be designed according to the current needs and trends of the industry.
With the help of UGC funds, the labs were established with very high-end systems and one to one systems for all the three years. Students are allowed to use the labs from morning 9:00 a.m. to evening 4:00 p.m. to improve their practical knowledge.
The students who are having good practical knowledge tested and the department will show them job opportunities.
This course also allows additional benefits the students can quit at any time that is in the middle of the course if they get good placements in their interesting subjects. In this way, this Web Technology and Multimedia providing empowerment to women in rural places like Eluru.
