St. Theresa’s College has zero tolerance towards ragging in any form in the college campus and hostels. The Anti Ragging Policy is recommended by The Anti ragging committee and advisory committee which include Lawyers and police personnel: General policy is as follows:

1. The college has zero tolerance towards ragging in any form in the college campers or in the hostel
2. Students are sensitized about anti ragging policyof The college well as the government regulations atthe beginning of every year.Sensitizationis carried out separately for senior studentsand fresher’s
3. The traditions of ragging-free campus is emphasised in orientation programs
4. Welcome to the fresheris done at the collegelevel only and no departmental formal or in formal meetings are not permitted
5. Cyber bullying, harassment, or improper conductin any form on social media is also considered as ragging.
6. Any act which violates the dignity and status of a student adverse comments is considered ragging
7. Foreing any student to do anythingagainst her wish would be considered ragging
8. Freshers / students are encouraged to report any incidents of ragging immediately

University Grants commissions prevention, Prohibition, redressed of Sexual harassment of women employees and students in Higher Educational Institution Regulations 2015.

Equality of status and opportunity is provided by the constitution of India. Personal liberty and human dignity is the right of every citizen. It is The duty of higher Education Institutions to ensure the safety and security of the women working in the campus. Sexual Harassment is a gross violation of the human right. It is important that the women employees and the Students of the higher Education Institutions are aware of their rights, duties and redressal mechanisms under the POSH Act and the UGC regulations. So, The Internal complaint cell was established in the college with the following objectives

1. Ensure safety and healthy work environment in the campus
2. Create awareness among the students and women employees their legal rights and protections available
3. Empower them to reach out and access help when needed
4. Sensitize the authorities about the duties, obligations and legal framework regarding POSH Act and mechanism

Functions of ICC

1. Provide assistance to anyone who wish to file a complaint and protect identities
2. Receive complaints on sexual harassment if any from students & women employees
3. Enquiry in to the complaint received
4. Provide mandatory relief during the enquiry sanctioning leave orattendance relaxations
5. Prevent victimisation of the aggrieved party / witness
6. Prohibit retaliations on adverse action against individuals involved
7. Submit findings and recommendations to the principal
8. Submit Annual report to The Head of the Institution
9. Conduct workshops / awareness programs in the campus

2. The ICC shall send one copy to the respondents within 7 working days. The respondents must file reply within 10 working days with documents and proofs

St. Theresa’s College Being Women’s College always focused on empowering women. Prohibition of any forms of discrimination is part of the ethos of the college. With UGC granting a “Center for Women’s studies” in our college from 2010-11 onwards there was a greater thrust towards women’s issues and problems and creating awareness not only in the campus but even in the society. This center plays a greater role in promoting justice and equality for Women in all spheres

The women’s study center is given the responsibility of ensuring gender equality with special reference to women

• Liaising with women groups, officers, department at district, national and international level.
• Submit Annual reports from the Women’s study center regarding the effectiveness of the initiatives.
