July To August

1. Dr. M. Padmaja attended online training on FDP on Effects of COVID19 Pandemic on Health care and Education System from 05-07-21 to 09-07-21 organised by AMITY University, Lucknow Campus.
2. Dr. M. Padmaja attended online training program on “Basic of Disaster Management” on 12-07-21 organized by National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi in collaboration with Department of Social Work, Patrician College of Arts and Science, Chennai.
3. Dr. M. Padmaja attended Online Course on “School Safety and Disaster Risk Management” conducted by organized by National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Kashmir on 14-07-2021.
4. Dr. M. Padmaja attended Webinar on “Disaster Management Plan” on 17-07-21 organised by organized by National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi in collaboration with Department of Geography, Central University of Punjab, Bhatinda.
5. Dr. M. Padmaja attended Online Training on “Hospital Disaster Preparedness and Response” organized by National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi in collaboration with conducted by PGIMER Chandigarh, Society for Critical Care Nursing on 29-07-21.
6. Dr. M. Padmaja attended 10 Days Online Course in “Mastering Excel: Tour From Beginners to Advance” organised by Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantt. from 21-07-21 to 30-07-21.
7. Department of Home Science and PG Clinical Nutrition jointly organised World Breast Feeding Week Celebrations from 01-08-21 to 07-08-21. As apart of these celebrations students created awareness on Importance of Breast Feeding among the people in and around their localities.
8. Dr. M. Padmaja attended Webinar on Heatwave preparedness and response organised by organized by National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi in collaboration with India Meteorological Department (IMD) on 03-08-21.
9. Dr. M. Padmaja attended Webinar on “Role of Youth in Disaster Management” on 06-08-2021 conducted by organized by National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development.
10. Dr. M. Padmaja and B. Bhavishya of III.B. Sc Home Science attended an online expert talk on “Nutrition Plus” by Hopscotch Health on 23-08-21.

Activities in Month of September

11. National Nutrition Week is celebrated every year from September 1st-7th. As a part of these celebrations Department of Home Science organised various activities.
12. On September 1st, 2021Online Inauguration of the National Nutrition Week was conducted in a befitting manner. Dr. M. Padmaja and V. Pavani of II M. Sc Clinical Nutrition explained the importance of National Nutrition Week.
13. Recipe contest was held on September 2nd, 2021.
14. On September 3rd Slogan Competition was conducted and students actively participated by creating slogans related to Balanced diet.
15. As a part of these celebrations Department of Home Science, Ch. S. D. St. Theresa's College for Women (A), Eluru in Association with ICAR- Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research, Pedavegi, A.P. organised a webinar on Importance of Millets in Indian Diets on September 4th,2021 at 10.00 am. Resource person was Dr. R.Venkateswarlu, Scientist (Biochemistry), ICAR- Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad. Program started with invoking God's blessings. Dr. Sr. Marietta D'mello in Presidential remarks encouraged the students to begin Start ups in Millets based Small Scale Industries Dr. M. Padmaja, HOD of Home Science Department welcomed the gathering. Dr.Venkateswarlu explained the Role of Millets in improving the nutritional value of diets and he also gave ideas on how to be entrepreneurs in the areas of processing of Millets and preparation of Millets based recipes. Later Dr. R. K. Mathur, Director, ICAR-IIOPR, gave his concluding remarks. In this program 453 participants from Teaching fraternity, Scientists, Students and Research fellows actively participated.
16. On September 7th students of Home Science and PG Clinical Nutrition participated in a webinar “Feeding Smart Right from Start- Role of parent” organised by Department of Nutrition.
17. Dr. M. Padmaja attended an expert talk on “Intervention of Agricultural programs for Food, Nutrition and Health” delivered by Dr.Vijaya Khader, Former Dean, Faculty of Home Science, ANGRAU, Hyderabad on 21-09-2021 organised by ICAR-IIOPR.
18. On the occasion of National Nutrition Month (India) 2021, Dr. M. Padmaja, Mrs.Ch. Sushma, Ms. G. Fathima and Mrs M. Priyanka attended a webinar on "Precision Nutrition for Potential Adolescence - Challenges in contest of Covid - 19 and beyond" organised by Andhra University with the support of National Commission for Women on 24-09-2021.
19. Dr. M. Padmaja attended Oration Lecture Series- 32nd Dr.Srikantia Memorial Award Lecture, 11th Dr.Rajammal P Devdas Memorial Award Lecture and 7th Dr.B.K. Anand Memorial Award held on 24th September 2021 at 4.30p.m. on virtual mode by Nutrition Society of India.
20. Dr.M.Padmaja is honoured by MANVATHA FOUNDATION, Eluru Chapter on September 5th (Teachers Day) for her contributions in the field of Academics.
21. Dr.M.Padmaja successfully completed a Certificate course on First Aid Training by St John Ambulance of United Kingdom on 25-09-2021.

Activities in Month of October

22. Department of Home Science organized IIC Impact Lecture Session II on 9-10-21 on the topic ‘How to convert projects to patents on Google platform and the resource person was Mr.J.E Moshe Dayan.
23. Dr.M.Padmaja attended meeting at AKNU on 23-10-21 “Internal Complaints Committee’s” organized by women empowerment development and grievance cell at AKNU Rajamahendravaram.
24. Dr.M.Padmaja was the resource person for technical session II in one day national webinar on “Youth success begins with you” organized by women empowerment cell, IQAC and department of mathematics of CRR College (A), Eluru on 25-10-2021.
Activities in Month of January
25. Dr.M.Padmaja attended a two day workshop on IP MAXIMA – IPR Awareness for Maximum Reach from January 7th to 8th, 2022, organized by innovative technology enabling centre, CSIR-IMMT, Bhuvaneswar.
26. Dr.M.Padmaja attended two day international conference on Innovation in Engineering, Management and Sciences organized by VVIT- Guntur and Global conference Hub, Coimbatore from 29-01-2022 to 20-01-2022 and won best paper presentation award.

Activities in Month of February

27. A national webinar was organized on 12-02-2022 by the Department of Home Science and IQAC of the college. Resource person Ms. P. Jyothirmayee, Advocate, District Court Eluru created awareness on women rights and the role of law in protecting women against atrocities. Students were enlightened on various aspects of sexual harassment and to whom they have to complain in case of any such issues. Resourse person also told that women in case of any emergency apart from Police they can contact Judge with the help of any advocate or the victim can approach CDPO with the help of Anganwadi workers. In this regard she also explained about Nirbhaya Act very clearly.
28. Final year Home Science students underwent cottage stay experience in three batches. The duration of the programme was from 14th February, 2022 to 7th March, 2022. The main objective of cottage stay was group living, decision making, account keeping and management of available resources. Students performed various duties such as Cook, Maid, Waitress, Hostess, Treasurer and their assistants during the stay.
29. On 24th February, 2022 Mrs.I.Aruna Kumari, Trainer, PIDILITE Industries, Mumbai, gave a talk to Home Science students and created awareness on “Women Entrepreneurship”. She explained about the opportunities provided by the Government for encouraging new entrepreneurs. She motivated them to start Small Scale Industries and instructed them to be self-sufficient financially.
