Department of Physics & Electronics of Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s college for women has organized a three day Workshop on “Designing Concepts of Embedded systems and it’s Applications” on 20th to 22nd June 2024. In this altogether 58 students of III B.Sc. MPC,MPCS,MECS and I M.Sc. Physics were exposed to both theoretical and practical knowledge about EMBEDDED SYSTEMS & IT’S DESIGNING and it also helped them to get the overview of Embedded systems. V. Govinda Rao, resource person, started the theoretical session and enlightened students with basics of IOT (INTERNET OF THINGS). They came to understand clearly about IOT that it is simply the network of interconnected things or devices which are embedded with sensors, software, network connectivity and necessary electronics that enables them to collect and exchange data making them responsive. Students have taken up their own projects and they were divided into 10 groups.
They have done some case study on projects taken, studied every hardware component in detail and gathered the components, soldered components on printed board and designed their project with the help of team members of Microlink. Program code was dumped in their respective circuits. They have also verified their projects keenly and they explained how & why they have implemented their projects to other team members. Finally they completed gaining knowledge on IOT and EMBEDDED SYSTEMS & IT’S DESIGNING. The workshop has been completed equipping students with heaps of knowledge on Embedded Systems.
Dr.A.Nirmala Jyothsna, Head of the department of Physics & Electronics was the chief guest of NASA project winners in district level in Sri Chaitanya Techno School on 27th June 2024. She also distributed prizes for the students and also encouraged them to do more smart projects which helps in this modern technological world.
As our college is a Network Institute of IIRS, Dehradun, the Department of Physics & Electronics has coordinated a Live & Interactive program – “143rd IIRS Outreach Programme on Geospatial Technology for Digital Agriculture” during 24th June 2024 to 28th June 2024 for Agriculture students. Along with students, the Faculty of Department of Botany & Agriculture have registered and attended this course.
As our college is a Network Institute of Outreach Network Program, IIRS, ISRO, Dehradun, the Department of Physics & Electronics has coordinated– 147th IIRS Outreach Programme on “Remote sensing and Digital Image Analysis” from 27th August 2024 to 20th September 2024. Altogether 44 students from III B.Sc. MPC, MPCS & MECS have registered and participated in this course.
A Thematic Seminar on “Innovation in Science & Technology” was organized by the department of Physics & Electronics in collaboration with SETWEL, Eluru on 28th August 2024. Dr.Sr.P.Mercy, Principal was the chief Guest, Sr.Maria Christia, Vice-Principal was the Guest of Honor, Dr.A.Nirmala Jyothsna, HOD of Physics & Electronics was the convener and Mrs.N.Madhuri Rose was the co-convener for this program. The faculty of the department Dr.K.Sreelatha, Mrs. M. Saraswathi, Mrs. B. Deepthi and Mrs. P. Anusha who were the project guides also took part in this program. On this occasion, Mr. C. Madhusudana Rao, CEO addressed the students highlighting the importance of Innovation in Science & Technology for the development of Nation. Dr.A.Nirmala Jyothsna, HOD of Physics & Electronics spoke on this occasion stressing the need for updation of technological skills in the present scenario keeping in view the current global issues which are to be addressed immediately. She also emphasized that technology should be used to improve the quality of human lives for a better world. III B.Sc. Electronics Students of Ch. S. D. St. Theresa’s college for Women(A), Eluru demonstrated the following live Electronics projects.
Sr.Maria Christia, Vice principal & the team of SETWEL congratulated the students for the innovative & useful projects. K. John Kennedy, Superintendent, SETWEL, Eluru informed the students about the youth festival to be celebrated soon and he asked the students to participate in various competitions organized by SETWEL in this event.
On 13th September 2024, the Department of Physics & Electronics has put up an extension program on “SMART- Sensor Technology” by a skit named “LIVE SMART presented by the ward students of Mrs.M.Sarswathi & Mrs.N.Madhuri Rose belonging to III B.Sc. MPCS & III B.Sc. MECS under the guidance of Dr.A.Nirmala Jyothsna, Head, department of Physics & Electronics. In this program, students showed how technology has taken its place as indispensable, resulting in economic benefits, better health care, time-saving, and better lifestyle in the form of skit. They also explained in detail about various Live Electronics projects and their working through videos. Implementation of Sensor technology improves our lives and helps us to solve problems. Students also showed how work can be done efficiently and effectively by using sensor technology in the form of dance. By having access to technology, it can be beneficial to people of all ages greatly. The program concluded with a response by Dr.Ch.Mahalakshmi, Head of the department of Telugu & Hindi in which she stressed the need for using the updated technology to improve the quality of lives. She congratulated the organizers and the students for the excellent conduct of program.

Altogether 55 students and 4 faculty of Department of Physics & Electronics have registered and attended this course.
Dept. of Physics & Electronics has organized a Workshop on “Role of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) in LED bulb Manufacturing” on 14th October 2024. Altogether, 68 students of III B.Sc. MPC, MECS and II B.Sc. Physics(minor) exposed to both theoretical and practical knowledge about Role of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) in LED Bulb Manufacturing and it also helped them to get an overview of structure and functioning of LED Bulbs.

Dept. of Physics & Electronics, has organized a Workshop on “PCB Designing & Manufacturing” on 15th & 16th October 2024 in collaboration with MICROLINK Technologies, Vijayawada, Sponsored by RUSA (2.0). The students of I M.Sc. Physics & III B.Sc. MPC, MPCS and MECS of Ch. S.D.St.Theresa’s College for Women(A), Eluru have participated in this work shop. Altogether 82 students have participated in this workshop. The resource persons were Sri. V. Govinda Rao, Technical Director, Microlink Information Technologies, Vijayawada and Mr.V.Samba Siva, Commercial Director, Microlink Information Technologies, Vijayawada. The Workshop was inaugurated on 15th October 2024, at 9 AM for which the faculty of the department of Physics & Electronics, the resource persons Sri. V. Govinda Rao & Mr. Sambasiva Rao, Microlink Information Technologies, Vijayawada along with technical personnel & all the participants were present. The workshop started with Prayer lead by the UG students. Dr.K.Sreelatha, faculty in Physics addressed the gathering .Dr. A.Nirmala Jyothsna gave the opening remarks in which she stressed the need for updating Knowledge in Electronics & learning the Circuit designing and manufacturing skills to put the theoretical knowledge into practice which enables the students to take up innovative projects in future.
The workshop has ended on 16th October 2024 at 4:00 PM. Students have gained knowledge on circuit designing & they have learnt the skills of etching, drilling, mounting, soldering and connecting the circuits on the Printed circuit board. This workshop has instilled confidence in them so that they can take up more innovative & higher level projects in future. Dr.A.Nirmala Jyothsna, Head, Dept. of Physics & Electronics has given her valuable message by explaining the importance of learning PCB designing & Electronic devices which provides job opportunities in the field of Electronics. Later students shared their opinion on the usefulness of this workshop. They have highly appreciated the management and the department for organizing such a work shop which has helped them gain the most important knowledge in PCB designing and manufacturing and they opined that this workshop has provided an opportunity to gain practical skills which boosted their self confidence.
The district level youth fest was organized in Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s college for Women(A), Eluru. The students of III B.Sc. MECS and II M.Sc. Physics have participated in “Innovation in Science & Technology” in which the students got group and individual prizes.
As a part of Curriculum, Department of Physics & Electronics organized a workshop on” Demonstration and working of Electrical Appliances “ by Sri Srinivasa Rao, Senior Engineer, Industrial Automation works, Eluru on 21st October 2024 to understand the design, applications and practices of various electrical and electronic devices used and also their trouble shooting in our daily life. He explained the construction, demonstrated the working, operational principles of various instruments, skills of handling, Maintenance & trouble shooting of different instruments used in the Labs and also in our day to day life.
