Introduction

The computer science department works according to the aims and objectives of the college. However it has devised its own specific objectives of the college.

• To create personally matured and professionally equipped integrated women.
• To improve communication skills of the students regarding the subject.

History of the Department

The department of computer science was established in the academic year 1988 with a goal of equipping young women to meet the challenges in the Information technology organizations. The department was formally inaugurated by Sri. Narasimha Rao , Advocate Eluru and is blessed by the then Principal Sr.Winifred under the guidance of Dr.G.Lalitha, M.Sc.,M.Tech. the first head of the department of Computer Science.

UG Computer Science students are taught a series of courses in computers to develop and understand the principles and method, analytical analysis and logic. The under graduate courses/curriculum consists of two main components i.e. core papers and specialized papers . The core papers lay emphasis on concepts and principles. For specialized papers there is an in-built flexibility to encourage students to specialize in streams of their choice through clusters.

The department promotes "Student Centered Teaching Approach" through seminars, presentations, project work assignments, and ICT supported teaching. We conduct seminars on career orientation.
